I just bought this vehicle on 08/14/04 for a $1000. The guy was selling it because he thought he had done major damage to the front end and did not want to put anymore money into the truck. I started up the truck, it sounded good and would move on its own. It had a grinding noise coming form the drivers front wheel. I checked it out and found the outer axle knuckle broke. I had a replacement for it at home already so I said you got a deal. I found that it had an electric shift T-case with the motor gone, they had vise grips on the shaft to shift it with.
This is what the truck looked like when I bought it. After 2 power washing's it
looked a little better

After we got it home and did some major cleaning, It actually looked good.
Future plans are to swap to a 8.8 rear and a Dana 35 front end. Maybe 4.56 gears
not sure about them yet.
I removed the swap bars to see what kind of difference it would make. It made a
difference in the flex and I have not really noticed much difference in the
handling while driving down the road.

with swap bars, look at the driver rear wheel and you will see it is setting on top of the water, the water is about 4 inches deep |
|
With swap bars removed, driver rear is on the ground here. I gained about 4 1/2 inches that I have noticed. |
