I have been deer
hunting since I could walk. Dad would take me along then when I was
ready it was time for me to become a hunter. For the first few years
dad was never to far away and always keeping a eye on me. My first deer
was a large a doe shot at about 30 yards with a 30-30. I was hooked
from that day on on the sport. I began archery hunting about 25 years
ago. Man did that make learn a lot. I never really was a trophy hunter.
To me anything I shoot is a trophy in its own way. The memories of the
deer camps and the family and friends getting together for season and telling their great stories, always stands
out in my memory.
The best trophy I
have is the 14 point I shot in 2000. Once we found it (about 1 am) we
discovered it was actually a doe. Check out the story in my 14 point doe page. This
year (2005) I am very happy with my year so far. I bagged a 8 point
with my bow then during gun season got a 10 point from the same stand.
They may not score enough for the books but they scored big my memory.
