Rust and body damage after the flop on its first outing

Removed the first bed

Bought a rust free bed and replaced the old bed

A co worker has a 87 ranger with cut out fenders and flares

He is going to narrow wheels and was looking for a rust free

bed. So we traded bed. I will get his fenders as soon as he

gets his replacement fenders.

Since the bed was off I decided to paint the frame. Since I painted the front axle

Ford Blue that's the color I choose for the frame. After cleaning  wire brushing the

frame and prepped it for painting.

The new bed is finally on and looks good. Only thing I noticed was the passenger side flare is coming off.

Nothing a piece of adhesive and new screws can not fix.

Passenger side

Removal of the old fenders. There are 10 hex head screws that hold the outer fender in place. On my truck 7 are 8mm and 3 are 10mm. Then there are 4 screws that hold the fender well in place. They are 7/32".

First thing to I did was removed the grille and the side marker light.

There are 4 8mm screws on the top of the fender. I would take them off last.

The screw on the top behind the door is a 10mm and the one on the bottom under the door is a 8mm.

Behind the headlight there are 2 8mm screws one on top and bottom.

2 10mm screws connect the roll pan to the fender. One you have to get to from under the truck, the other is just above the parking light.

They 4 screws holing the wheel well are here, mine had been modified and cut some.

After you have removed all the screws the fender just lifts off, leaving the inner fender still attached by spot welds.

If you need to remove the inner fender also you will need to drill out the spot welds.

Fenders removed

New fenders,

Fender wells are a PITA, I am going to make new ones out of thin metal to replace these butchered ones

The installation is a little easier if you have some one help you get the fenders aligned. I did these by myself checking alignment often.

Make sure everything is tight and that the door and hood lines up

Here is the what the truck looked like a year ago after I bought it

And now with the new parts.
